Information About Carla Sinclair-Wells

Owner of Sinclair Design Studio

I come from a family of teachers and artists and relatives that are proficient in both areas. My mother and father retired from teaching after very successful careers and were instumental in developing my creativity. I remember distinctly the day my mother said...

Carla, you know people make a living out of designing typefaces, logos and laying out magazines, newspapers and everything we read.

That notion stuck... And my Lord and Savior blessed me with the tools to build a career within the graphic arts industry.

Education

I began my formal studies at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS and then completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. My first job was as an airbrush artist with Art Carved Class Rings in Austin, TX. After several moves, jobs, and life-altering events, I resigned from the Art Director position in 1990 at the Orlando Naval Training Station (M.W.R. Dept.) to begin freelancing.

This career move was primarily due to my “other job” - becoming a mother of my third child. Yet, opening my own graphic design studio was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I've been truly blessed to be able to work in my field, and at the same time, raise my children – Daniel (40), Matthew (36), and Sierra (34). The time has flown by...my children and business have grown!

Several years ago, I went back to school and got certified in website development. I still attend continuing education courses, seminars and on-line tutorials when possible. My industry has changed dramatically since the introduction of desktop computers and portable devices, however, I still like to pick up a paint brush and camera. That is, when I'm not fishing, reading, gardening or simply enjoying my Creator's artwork.

Read more about my current activities on Facebook (which I admit, I'm not very active on). I am, however, very active on some of my client's Facebook pages, which I help produce quality content for.

How I Help Make Dreams Come True

Many of my clients approach me not knowing a lot about the design, marketing or the internet business. They simply have a dream of owning/operating a company, showing off their hobby or promoting a cause. In other words, they have a DREAM. As with a rainbow that symbolizes hope and a promise, I offer my services to help dreams come true.

Feel like singing? Go ahead, here are the lyrics...

Dorothy: 'Some place where there isn't any trouble.' Do you suppose there is such a place, Toto? There must be. It's not a place you can get to by a boat, or a train. It's far, far away. Behind the moon, beyond the rain...

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high,
there's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue,
and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star, and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow why oh why can't I?
